I seen this in theaters. When the ghosts ate Rose everyone was clapping and cheering, but then the ghosts turned on Danny and then everybody was like “aww damn… ”.

When I saw the office in Doctor sleep I said hey that looks exactly like the office that Jack was in in the shining and then I realized it is.
He looks différent because hes a vision, hes a fake Jack Torrance.

When Rose astral projects across the night sky in silence except for the slow heart beat creeped me out. Very reminiscent of the eerie moments in The Shining.
Doctor Sleep: As a sequel this film will of course be compared to The Shining and while it might not reach those Olympian Heights it is a great film in it’s own right. Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor) is 36 in 2011, an alcoholic, a bar room brawler, destroyed by his past, his Shining and the ghosts which haunt him. He flees to a small town where he builds a new life, working in a hospice he uses his Shining to help patients over the line. He has a cat assistant, Azzie, who knows when the patients are about to die. By 2019 his abilities also allow him to contact a young girl, Abra (Kyliegh Curran) whose even more powerful Shining has awakened. Bur Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) leader of the band of Psychic Vampires, The True Knot, also notices Abra and wants to consume her Shining (steam.
Rose is a quite terrifying creature, her smile lulls her victims before she strikes, her sidekick Snakebite Andi (Emily Alyn Lind) can control peoples mind, looking like an innocent teenager. Some savage and disturbing scenes of the Vampires swooping on psychic children and literally sucking their Shining out. This Steam is also stored in flasks. Telepathic battles between Rose and Abra (and later Danny)showing their minds as filing drawers or memory palaces as they try to plunder each others memories. We also have battles where both sides use guns as well as psychic confronts his father’s ghost in the guise of Lloyd the bartender at the Overlook Hotel. Some good effects especially the way Psychic Vampires die, the Steam rushing out of them as they vanish leaving empty clothes behind.
Great performances by Ferguson and Lind but even more so by Curran who convinces when she is channeling Danny and in her battles with Rose. Written and directed by Mike Flanagan (from the novel by Stephen King) this is a thrilling work of Horror which you will remember long after the final credits roll. 8.5/10.

I’ve been waiting and hoping for a really good deepfake of Jack Nicholson in this scene, and this is by far the best one yet. While there are some things that need tweaking (the difference in skin tones between the face and the forehead, and the close up at 7:53 looks too sharp) for the most part this really does look like Mr. Nicholson. Some shots, like 5:35 and 7:30, are dead-on. Couple them with a voice impersonator, and we’d have the ultimate version of this iconic meetup. Thanks for making this.

I love how its still a sequel to Kubricks film, and not just on the books timeline.
Ok you get a sub from me. I love your energy! You go through a lot of great content fast but throwing a litle comedy in there as well. 10/10 will recommend.
Love, love, love the fact that Danny returned to the Overlook for some help. Kubrick’s ghosts making a return made me smile. Not to mention the actor they chose for Delbert Grady is spot on. Looks like the original actor.

As someone who struggles with addiction, I really appreciated this scene. Its like the internal dialogue some of us have in our heads when struggling not to use: a battle between the frontal lobes and the amygdala. Watching it have a positive outcome helps me make the right choice in real life.
According to the cast list on IMDB Pro, Paul Reubens/Pee-wee Herman is playing Tommy the imaginary friend.
The way he says medicine, medicine is what it is was so Jack Nicholson.
So here they are again, at the bar.
As a person who has not read either the shining or doctor sleep I’ll admit that my review might not be the best but, as a person who has seen the shining and just now (literally tonight) seen doctor sleep I have to say it’s pretty good. Not a perfect sequel in my opinion but, it was a good watch and pretty entertaining in most places. However, at 2 hrs and 30 min I did feel the run time get to me. Overall, it was good. Oh and for those who are not familiar with the shining or any of the source material this is not your typical horror movie (legit not scary at all.

This is my new favorite horror movie of 2019, right next to Midsommar. This movie made me so scared and sad at the same time. Not a second was boring, had me glued the whole time.

It was a brilliant film i think they should of used the ending from the book were dan lives and his dad jack waves good bye as he holds of the ghosts from the overlook before it blows.
The two girls those eyes wow.
I’ve never heard anyone around my friends and their friends that said that this movie adaption was Ok or Good Either they all were in awe or they hated it.

I hope it’s more like the book and I hope they use references from Edgar Allan Poe The Masque of the Red Death. Do you think they’ll be references towards it ? Or do you think they’ll have references are Easter eggs relating to the bug hearts of Atlantis.

This scene kind of ruins an amazing payoff in the book where Dan turns around as hes leaving and sees Jack standing there by the entrance of where the hotel used to be.
